Sealants

Sealants are white, plastic coatings that are painted onto the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. These chewing surfaces have grooves and pits which provide a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

Even if your child brushes and flosses carefully, it is difficult - sometimes impossible - to clean the tiny grooves and pits on certain teeth.  To prevent cavities in these grooves and pits you can cover them with a special composite varnish called sealant, which "seals out" food and plaque thus greatly reducing the risk of dental decay.

The application of these sealants are easy to do and it only takes one visit!
